It is a great honor that HE Garchen Rinpoche bestowed the Chakrasamvara Empowerment at Drikung Seattle. The Yidam Chakrasamvara, the deity practiced according to the fivefold path of Mahamudra—the unique “father-dharma” and special teachings of Lord Drigungpa—has been practiced at Gar Monastery since it’s founding. Chakrasamvara is the main deity practice of the Kagyu lineage.

Red Chenrezig is also a very special practice connected to Gar Monastery. Red Chenrezig is one of the root terma practices in Gar Monastery. A group of lamas are dedicated to this practice non-stop year round since the establishment of Gar Monastery (except during the Cultural Revolution). In future we hope to hold an annual Red Chenrezig Drubchen at Drikung Seattle.
